Reimagining Zaha Hadid's Riverside Museum
Ground Plan as Bridge Section and Floor Plan
In line with my theory of fluid movement, the curved shapes and dynamic form of Zaha Hadid's Riverside Museum immediately caught my interest due to these characteristics of her architecture.
Task: take a ground plan and use it to influence the bridge from top view. Then rotate it 90 degrees to inform the bridge's section as well.

I envisioned the main body of the bridge to comprise of a large, curved glass form with contour lines running across the shape to provide visual depth and interest. Below is an image of the Foundation Louis Vuitton by Frank Gehry which also inspired the aesthetic of thin pipes separating curved glass panels.
This ground plan sketch ended up being very accurate to the shape of my bridge from top view, as I liked how the combination of fluid curves and sharp edges were inspired by Zaha Hadid' work.
